Artist statement:
"Through my work, I investigate themes of transition and transformation. Combining sculpture and photography, my images of constructed environments draw from various sources such as photo archives, artifacts of empire and personal narrative.
My practice is inspired by both the political and personal - colonial
histories, peripheral experiences - serve as points of departure in my work. I make sketches, and construct objects and environments - which are then enlarged and photographed with a large-format camera. The final photograph is the remaining document, as the structure is discarded after the image is made."
