VOLUNTEER AND INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES
Dear Alwan Supporter,
Alwan for the Arts presents quality, provocative programing on a regular basis and provides great opportunities for interns and volunteers who wish to become part of this dynamic, one-of-a-kind organization.
As we grow, Alwan seeks interns and volunteers to expand our marketing, outreach and fundraising efforts, as well as assistance with accounting, space management, program management, and more. This is an exceptional opportunity to learn the inner-workings of a non-profit arts organization, to grow professionally, intellectually and artistically.
If you are a student and wish to intern, Alwan offers exciting possibilities to expand your skills, get work experience and recommendation letters towards future employment. You can access all of Alwan's offerings for free and would get a chance to join in an internship exchange program currently being developed with partner organizations in the Middle East. The commitment is ten hours a week.
If you prefer to volunteer (professional or student), your commitment will amount to two to three hours a week in an area of your choosing where you can apply your expertise towards Alwan's success. As a volunteer myself, while also employed by a large NGO, I can safely say that being part of a small organization allows me to use and expand skills in areas that would not be open to me at a larger organization. Regular volunteers may come to as many events as they wish for free, get exposed to the inner workings of a non-profit, and become part of Alwan's creative community of creators and supporters.
The following areas are available for volunteering or internships:
Marketing/Outreach
Publicity
Graphic Design
Event/Space Management
Web Management
Finance and Accounting
Fundraising and Development
