Reading: SALGA presents: Coming Out, Coming Home Reading in NYC
Sun, November 20, 2011 1:00 pm at Alwan for the Arts
$5 suggested donation (no one turned away!)
1-4pm. Light refreshments will be served.
This reading is the result of a 4-week writing workshop held this past Fall. Following the success of this workshop series being presented in LA and SF with culminating readings, SALGA sponsored this year’s event to provide members of the South Asian LGBTIQQ community a platform to share their experiences in a safe and creative environment.
A strong believer in the power of personal story telling, D'Lo has created the "Coming Out, Coming Home" writing workshops in line with SALGA's mission statement: to be a safe space for sexual minorities and people of all gender identities, who trace their heritage to South Asia or who identify as South Asian.
SALGA is NYC’s only organization working to raise awareness and provide resources for people who identify as South Asian and LGBTIQQ.
