Benefit Event: Benefit hosted by the American Friends of Palestinian House of Friendship
Mon, June 1, 2009 6:30 pm at Alwan for the Arts
American Friends of the Palestinian House of Friendship invite you to a Special Reception for Mohammed Sawalha, Executive Director.
American Friends of the Palestinian House of Friendship (PHF) are gathering support for PHF, a non-partisan, non-governmental organization that serves hundreds of disadvantaged, at-risk children and teenagers in Nablus on the West Bank, Palestine.
Every year, no matter how difficult the conditions, PHF sponsors the Smiling Faces summer camp to provide cultural programs–including dance and the arts–to young people. With financial support from American friends, Smiling Faces helpsPalestinian youth gain a feeling of self-worth, respect for democracy and human rights, and love for the ‘other’. Amidst violence and chaos, Smiling Faces offers a safe place for young people to grow, learn productive and peaceful ways to address their differences, and have positive interactions with each other and caring adults.
PHF wants to make Smiling Faces a year round program. Please join us to learn more about PHF and how you can support the expansion of this critical program.
