Arabic Classes Spring Session

Arabic I classes begin February 18, 2009. Levantine Arabic classes begin February 26, 2009.

Registration open until Feb 26 and March 5, respectively.

Arabic Level I: begins Wednesday, February 18, 2009 6:15-8:15 PM
8 weeks
Tuition: $350
Textbook: Brustad, K. et al (2004 Edition). Alif Baa. Georgetown
University Press.
Instructor: Iman Meiki
This course will focus on learning the letters and sounds of Arabic
and skills of reading, writing and pronunciation, in addition to listening and basic conversation.

Levantine Arabic: begins Thursday, February 26, 6:15 - 8:15 PM
8 weeks
Tuition: $350
Instructor: Iman Meiki

This course will work on the student conversation and pronunciation skills in order to achieve confidence and fluency in day-to-day situations. The course will be conducted in the Levantine dialect spoken in Syria, Lebanon and Palestine. This course is for students who have completed level I and have the ability to read and write.

All classes will supplement textbook material with reading from Arabic newspapers and will introduce you to some Arab song and cinema.

About the Instructor:

Iman Meiki has been teaching Arabic at Columbia University, Queens College, The New School University, NYU and other language institutions.

Please also note that if you drop the class after the first session,
you will be reimbursed 75% of the fees. No reimbursements will be
made after attending the second class.

Late Registration:

If you decide to register after the first class meeting you will be
expected to bring a full tuition check to the 2nd session.
