An Evening with Playwright/performer Betty Shamieh

She will present excerpts of her most well known works including Chocolate in Heat, Roar, and The Black Eyed.

Betty Shamieh is a Palestinian-American playwright. Her play Roar was the first play about Palestinian-Americans ever to premiere off-Broadway and it was selected as a New York Times Critics Pick for four weeks. Her play The Black Eyed premiered to critical acclaim in San Francisco and will be coming to New York in the fall of 2005. Shamieh is a graduate of Harvard College and the Yale School of Drama.
