Bridget Robbins is a New York-based musician who spent nearly two years in the West Bank teaching flute and nay at the Edward Said National Conservatory of Music. While based in Bethlehem, she commuted weekly to East Jerusalem and Ramallah to teach at the conservatory’s three branches. She recently returned to New York and will present very candid video footage of Palestinian music students during their lessons and performances, and will give a brief presentation on the challenges of being a music student under occupation in the West Bank today.
All proceeds from this evening will go towards a fund set up by Bridget Robbins and Ranya Fleysher to buy musical instruments for Palestinian students.
More information on the Edward Said National Conservatory of Music can be found at http://ncm.birzeit.edu.
